Light is invisible
This is still blowing my mind! I have to find out how to recreate Zajonc’s invisible light demonstration. I need to employ a scientist.
Described on page two of his book.
Before Edison
The arc lamp: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arc_lamp was said to be too bright and hurt people’s eyes!
Edison introduced the light bulb that produced light more of the brightness of gas lamps, which is about 25 w to us.
Apparently Edison was a better self promotor than Pavel Yablcohkov http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pavel_Yablochkov of the Yablochkov candle.
I’ve just read...

Reenactment
I have developed an interest in reenactors and have been trying to find artists who have investigated this activity. Here’s a recent film about a Vietnam War reenactment by Ryan Garrett.
HISTORY MINOR from Ryan Garrett on Vimeo.
Farb: a derogatory term for participants in historical reenactment who show indifference to historical authenticity. #nozippers!
